A Message from the President
Thank you for being a part of our organization. And thank you for standing with us as we protect your interests in the North Carolina Legislature. We face some major battles in 2009. With your help, as we have done for 54 years, we will make an important contribution to the wellbeing of North Carolina's tourism economy, and specifically to your business.
NCTIA's major focus in 2009 will be on the legislative front. We are already hard at work defending the School Calendar Bill. And we are actively engaged in making sure that occupancy tax revenues dedicated to marketing your region and your business are not diverted from their intended use. And we will be fighting for an increase in the marketing budget for the Division of Tourism, Film and Sports Development in an extremely difficult time for the State's budget.
Our strength is in our membership. The more organizations we represent, the stronger our voice in Raleigh. That's why your membership is extremely important to our success. As our partner, we will keep you informed electronically every Friday the General Assembly is in session about tourism-related legislative issues and every month about NCTIA and statewide travel news.
Thank you for your support of NCTIA's mission, and for your support for your fellow travel industry members who volunteer their time to serve you. In tough economic times, the battles we fight for you are more important than ever. We look forward to serving you and working with you this year.
